Where to find us

Discover Møre og Romsdal county’s only aquaculture visitor centre and public viewing facility, located in the island municipality of Smøla. The Smøla archipelago is comprised of over 5800 islands, islets, and reefs. Nestled amongst them is our Hestøya public viewing facility, which is operated by the Pure Farming company. Just 3 minutes’ drive from the Edøya ferry terminal.

This is the aquatic portion of the comprehensive discovery experience available to our visitors. It consists of an excursion to an aquaculture facility. Visitors receive a guided tour of a full scale fish farm, and gain first-hand knowledge about how such facilities function. The cages are accessed by speedboat.

Once you arrive at the facility, you will be greeted by one of our knowledgeable guides, who will lead you on a tour of the fish farm. You may also participate in feeding the salmon, and observe aquaculture specialists in action. You will have the unique opportunity to see a fish farm with a 780 tonne MAB, comprised of four cages.
